During your first therapy session, I will spend time getting to know you and gaining a better understanding of why you are seeking therapy. We will discuss your goals and expectations for therapy, as well as any concerns or questions you may have. This initial session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.

Sessions typically last 45–55 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, with frequency adjusted over time to bi-weekly or monthly based on progress, goals, and clinical needs. The overall length of therapy varies—some people benefit from short-term work, while others engage in longer-term therapy. Session frequency and duration are determined collaboratively and guided by clinical judgment, progress, and medical necessity.

Yes, therapy is confidential. I follow professional ethical guidelines and state laws to protect your privacy, and confidentiality is reviewed in detail before and during the first session so you have a clear understanding of how your information is handled.
There are a few important limits to confidentiality. As a mandated reporter, I am required to take action if there is concern about abuse or neglect of a child or elderly person, or if I believe someone is at risk of serious harm to themselves or others, or if I am otherwise legally required to share information. In these situations, my priority is always safety and well-being, and I make every effort to involve clients (and parents, when appropriate) in these conversations whenever possible.

Therapy can be beneficial for individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, struggles in school, and life transitions. If you are experiencing distress or seeking personal growth, therapy may be right for you.
To help determine this, I recommend submitting an initial inquiry through my contact form. This allows me to review your concerns and goals and provide guidance on whether working together feels like the right fit.
